December 13: gingerbread house
December 14, 2012 § Leave a comment
The Tacoma Art Museum had a gingerbread house making + hot chocolate sipping + ice skating evening. Guess how many families showed up? One. Ours. We had a fabulous time but I did wonder why it’s so hard to get people to participate in arts and culture and community around here. In my sleep deprived fatalistic mood, this is really bugging me. On the other hand, J. was so excited to be building and decorating the house, eating the icing, and drinking Hello Kitty hot chocolate, that it warmed my heart too. I will also note that I have never made a gingerbread house before, and that it’s harder than it looks. The boys did most of the work.
(the Lego candy is the sidewalk, and the licorice is the trash can, in case you are wondering)
