November 3: Open studios

It is the open studios weekend in Tacoma, and we spent the day looking at art, chatting with artists, and snacking on their food. While consuming art is not the same as being creative, we had a few creative moments.
Painting on a collective canvas:

Photographing the awesomeness of the three-level antique store Sanford and sons in Downtown Tacoma:

and creating kirigami, while a lovely artist held O. so I could have both my hands free:

I learned that the secret to creating paper snowflakes is in the initial fold, and am pretty proud of the yellow piece in the back.

It was a great day;  Tacoma can be great. I share the sentiments of the sign below:
