October 14: gift wrap & collage

October 15, 2012 § Leave a comment

Tonight I actually got mad at myself for not being able to give sustained effort to any project and for not creating anything meaningful. Okay, so maybe that’s lack of sleep talking, but I almost gave up. Almost.

Today we had a birthday party to go to, and this time our gift wrap looked like this:

Two pieces of Halloween cardstock stapled together on three sides, then after the gift was put in, sealed with stickers. Basic, crude, and yet more appealing (IMHO) than glossy store-bought wrapping paper. J. made the card (not shown).

My own project was making a collage. Like I said, I almost gave up because it just wasn’t coming together in the allotted 15 minutes, but in the end I found an old collage that J. made for me, added a few pictures to it (carnivals and masks and a Hindu goddess), and a few affirmations I wrote for myself about eight years ago, in a different life.
