September 19: Pudding

This is the life: a cloudy September morning, no place to go, baby in the sling, wooden spoon in my hand, making pudding. Not sure if I would want to do this every day, but once in a while, it’s perfection. As for pudding, really, why would anyone need to buy it from the store? Not only is it wasteful, but the ingredients are dubious, not to mention that homemade pudding simply tastes better. All you need is milk, sugar, a little bit of salt, corn starch,  and vanilla extract if you are making vanilla pudding, or chocolate if you are making chocolate pudding (I actually used both). Online recipes abound, but I got mine from the same book as usual: The homemade pantry. My regular readers should be convinced by now to buy it. Here is its Powells listing.
