September 11: Back in the kitchen (crackers)

September 12, 2012 § Leave a comment

Now that school has started, and I only have to take care of one child instead of two in the morning, I am planning on spending more time in the kitchen again, and trying out recipes from the Homemade Pantry book. Today I made crackers. The healthy kind. The ones J. will not eat (not even when shaped like flowers and bats).  They have millet and flax seeds in them, and look something like this

The ones on top are sprinkled with salt and pepper. Though wholesome, the crackers are tasty. Very different from the grocery store variety. And the cracker dough is always so fun and easy to work with.  Another perk: this is a product of my creativity that I won’t have to store!
