August 11: Shell shrines

August 12, 2012 § Leave a comment

Hurray! I managed to get my art fix during daylight hours today!

I had a shell from the beach sitting on my desk, and thought it’d be fun to decorate it somehow. I found a cut-out picture of the Buddha among my collage photos, which prompted me to make a shrine for my honey, who likes shrines more than anything

shell, Buddha photo, beads, rocks

but then my little honey got jealous that I didn’t make him one, so he requested a Buddha shrine too. It just so happened that the next shell I found was bigger, so his shrine ended up being more elaborate (though the Buddha was not cut out as well)

shell, rocks, beads, dragonfly

Funny how kids always get a better deal than the parents.

The two Buddhas are happy together

and I can go to bed at a reasonable hour, which is probably wise considering that a certain baby has been refusing to nap all day.
