August 6: Mosaic by numbers (?!)

Okay, so today’s project is not too exciting. Maybe I am starting to run out of ideas? My excuse is that the boys went to a thrift store where they got a princess mosaic-by-numbers art kit for $1. How can you resist that, right? If you are not sure what mosaic-by-numbers is, it’s like paint-by-numbers but with little square foam stickers to go on numbers. I can understand why the previous owners got rid of the kit, as it’s a bit tedious. Nevertheless, the family worked on it together, which doesn’t happen often. Besides, I am always pleased when my male, Star Wars-loving-sometimes-aggressive-shooting-pretend-guns child plays with girls’ toys. We have had too many people tell him that pink is not a color a boy should like (he loves pink and purple), and it makes me tired. So, yes, I am embracing this princess toy, even if it didn’t really engage anyone’s creativity. It did make sure we knew how to read numbers from 1 to 12.
Here are the final results:
